Gigabyte GTX 470 SOC

(Sorry for the poor video quality. Captured it with my digital camera and it didn't auto focus and came out a bit dark) Gigabyte redesigned the PCB (circuit board) for their new GTX 470 SOC (GV-N470SO-13I) and have tackled the heat, power consumption & noise issues that other 470/480's are known for. Great results have.....resulted. It draws less power than a standard GTX 470 even though it's over-clocked, doesn't put out as much heat and the 3 fans are super quiet even when setting them at high RPM's. (the loud fans that you hear are the case fans NOT the video card fans...5 case fans on high setting) This video card is longer than the standard GTX 470. It is 11 inches long or 27.94 centimeters. The green lights shows the voltage load of the card. As the GTX 470 SOC uses more power the green LED lights make their way across the back of the card. For some reason in Windows 7 all the green lights are always on despite the voltage load. With XP it works fine. No biggie and should be worked our with future updates. Stock settings are: Core 700MHz / Shader 1400MHz / Memory 3348MHz / .987v My OC Settings are: Core 845MHz / Shader 1690MHz / Memory 3900MHz / 1.030v ( screenshot bit.ly ) ( I use MSI's Afterburner for overclocking bit.ly ) Good job Gigabyte! FPGA apprenticed Line Follower Robot

This is a final year project also known as the Capstone Project from the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McMaster University, ON, Canada. The robot is called "Light Integrated Line Traversing Intelligent Automobile (LILTIA)". The project was conducted by a group of four students - Amit Mehta, Jaimy R. Wickrema, Sharnav Banik and Shanker Gunachandran. The hardware logic was designed on an FPGA of Cyclone II series on a DE1 design board from ALTERA. The PCB, that holds the Interface circuit on top of the DE1 board was designed by Jaimy. The algorithm and simulation was designed by Sharnav and the Hardware logic modules were designed by both Jaimy and Sharnav. Unlike any other line follwer robot designed in the past, LILTIA uses a line scan camera for scanning the line instead of conventional IR sensors. This makes the bot operable on any color as opposed only black and white, since it does not depend of the reflectivity of the track. The entire design was graphically simulated on MATLAB before the hardware logic was designed which ensured it was going to work perfectly once put into hardware. An ultrasonic sensor was used for obstacle detection and wheel encoders were used for obtaining the current velocity of the motors. The velocities to the PWM motors were always assigned using the the current velocity acquired from the wheel encoders which ensured an absolutely jitter free and zigzag motionless robot. Slayer Exciter & Variable Capacitor - 15 watt tube - 3.2v NiCd Cordless Phone Battery

Thanks to Gbluer for his help on using variable capacitors with the Slayer. In this video I am starting my Solar Powered Garden Slayer. I am using a 3.2v NiCd phone battery I found in the dump that read 0.00v when I rescued it. A toroid pulsing a JT revived it, and it's at about 4v in this video. For the actual project, I have settled on using a 4v SD420 (4v 2Ah) Sealed Lead Acid Battery. That way, the slayer will run all night. Canadian Tire puts on a 1 Million Candle Flashlight sale, every year, that marks down the $29 dollar flashlight to $8.99. For that, you get the battery you need and reflectors, halogens, AC & DC chargers, and a good switch. The solar panel, is 6v 200mA, built on pc board with acrylic weather coat, just needs a diode and a frame, some sealant. I plan on housing the whole thing in a clear acrylic tube. I am going to use some step motors I get for free out of scanner and printers to track the sun. Should be pretty cool, and should kick the crap out of any single LED garden light LOL. I've already ran the Slayer outside at night with a warm white CFL. The circuit is running at 4v, 120 mA, which is 1/2 of a watt. It will light up the lamp uniformly at 3-5v. It's a real nice moody light, so much nicer than a few LEDs. I may also experiment with LED spots, but the JT works pretty darn well for that, too.

Por el método de planchado. Normalmente utilizo el papel HP Q2546A, que me da excelente resultados. Mejores que los del video pero se me acabaron las hojas antes de filmar el video. Esta es una propuesta económica: Pliego papel lustre (salen 5 hojas tamaño carta) $3MXN Impresión de pistas $2-5MXN Muy económicas y con resultados parecidos a hojas transfer comerciales. (Aun así, si van a hacer placas con pistas menores a 0.04cm [0.016plg] si les recomiendo el uso de hojas transfer comerciales). También admito que me falto aplicar presión en algunas partes, normalmente no les doy retoque con plumón, pero me fallo un poco :P -------------------0------------------- La 2ª parte será subida durante esta semana. ¡No se desconecten!
